Interpretation is about turning facts into accessible stories, to engage people with natural and cultural heritage and to provoke reflection. Working in this sector, I devised concepts and wrote text for panels, exhibitions, leaflets and walking guides.

Projects included a series of leaflets on the Lake District’s archaeological heritage, walking guides and interpretation panels for the Severn Way and Wye Valley walks, exhibition text for the Skomer Island heritage centre, and a range of interpretation for the Chilterns Gateway Centre on Dunstable Downs. I was also involved in creation of the Wales-wide Dehongli Cymru/Interpret Wales network, launching and editing its biannual magazine.
